What is a Legacy Challenge?
I imagine most simmers are probably well aquainted with the idea of a Legacy Challenge. In short, the goal is to start with a single sim ('The Founder') on the largest lot possible with as little funds as possible. From there you marry, have children, work and so on for ten consecutive generations. There are a series of rules and constrictions in place to make it a 'challenge'. These can range from things like inheritance rules, species limitations, cheats, mods and the like. There are a bunch of components that you can sort of pick and choose from- a D.I.Y challenge if you will. There's also a scoring system, but I don't like math, also I'm too lazy to actually bothing finding a forum to that so.....I'm not scoring. This challenge is just for funsies.
Many simmers take this a step further with a specific type of self imposed Legacy Challenge- a Genetic Legacy Challenge. In this, to choose an heir for your challenge you must not only adhere to the regular challenge rules, but also a 'genetic rule' this can be a specific eye or hair color or anything really.

So, what am I doing for this challenge?
Well dear reader, allow me to break it down. There are four major components to a Legacy Challenge (or five, if you count the genetic component). They are Gender, Bloodline, Heir selection, and Species. If you want a full breakdown of all the different components- check out the official site here.
For the purposes of this challenge, these are my chosen values:
TLDR- Only blood related children with the Viridi green eyes can inherit the next generation. Neither gender nor species plays a part. Said heir will be chosen by popular demand, unless there is only one eligible child, in which they inherit by default. Also- as of generation 3, genetic component is suspended until such time as a child is born who meets that requirement.
For the purposes of this challenge, these are my chosen values:
- Gender Component: Strict Equality- Any heir can inherit as long as they meet the genetic requirement regardless of gender.
- Bloodline Component: Strict Traditional- Only heirs who can trace their bloodline back to the original founder are eligible to inherit the next generation.
- Heir Selection Law: Democracy- If there is more than one eligible child in one generation, then the heir will be chosen through a poll on the final blog post of that current generations chapter.
- Species Component: Strict Tolerant- Aliens and other supernatural creatures are eligible to inherit as long as they meet the other criteria.
- Genetic Component: Eye color-Green. To be eligible to inherit the lot, the heir must have the same eye color as the original founder, in this case- green. To those readers who know Latin, I'm sure you've gotten the joke by now. But don't be impressed by me, I used google.
- GENERATION 3 SHAKEUP: I encountered a huge problem in generation 3- the only eligible heir, Madison, died in a fire. Under normal circumstances in a legacy, you would move in the closest relative who meets the rules you've chosen. Typically this would be a sibling. The problem, there were no eligible Viridi family members who met the genetic component- i.e the 'Viridi Eyes'. Neither Madison's brother, nor any of her cousins met the requirement. Because of this I made the executive decision to bring Austin in as the new generation 3 heir. As the only living child of the most recent heir, he seemed to be the best choice. For now I have decided to suspend the genetic component. Note- not demolish. Only suspend. Sim genetics are a weird thing, I've had grandchildren in the Sims 2 who pop up with the same hair and eye colors as grandparents. Bearing that in mind, I'll be relying on the democracy rule to choose heirs from this point on for deciding between multiple heirs. Should a child be born with the required genetic component they will be given heir priority. In the even they are the only child with the required component, they will automatically become heir- like with Madison in Generation 3.

What are the rules?
Pretty standard fare, some are official rules, some are self-imposed:
- No money, mood, or emotional cheats (game items that impact mood are fine).
- No resetting after bad events. Bad choice cost your job? Had your fourth kid and still no eligible heir? Sucks to be you- try again.
- No aging potions or pleading with the reaper. We are all but dust in the wind.
- No moving from original lot. I hope you like the view.
- Spouses may be chosen from the gallery only if no suitable townies are left (which by generation 3 or so is usually the case unless your into necrophilia. SO MANY GHOST TOWNIES).
- Wishing Well can be used only once per generation.
- Spouses are not allowed to bring in any money when they enter the household.
- ALL traits will be randomized using the following generator site: Character Values, Traits and Toddler Traits. I will choose the aspiration based on what traits they have, though I will do my best to avoid any I have already completed.
- No Changing aspirations until the first is complete.
Mods and Stuff
Disclaimer- I do have some gameplay mods installed. Most are things realated to CAS or build/buy- a few custom hairs, outfits, traits, and some custom aspirtations (I didn't think the Sims 4 had many options) as well as lots of walls and floors and things. The only gameplay mods I have are risky woohoo and a few others that expand social interactions, but nothing cheat-y that would impact the rules of the challenge.
I have all the expansion, stuff, and game packs. All my mods are from modthesims, except for the social mods which are from an awesome simmer named 'Kawaii Stacie'. If you see something you like, I can attempt to locate it for you, but everything I have comes from there so I'd check there first. If you haven't checked either of them out- please do so, they are amazing!

All right. That's all I've got.
